This drink belongs to the Jagermeister family, however, it's name would suggest it belongs to a family of drinks named after classic plays, therefore making this drink much older. The Beauty and the Beast play is actually an american version of the 18th century french play called "La Belle et la Bête".
This drink was not directly named after the french play. It was named after the more recent 1991 Walt Disney cartoon film Beauty and the Beast. Here is an early printing of this drink:

This drink has no specific location of origin associated with it. It is also difficult to determine an an accurate time frame of this drinks creation.
This drinks composition is widely debated, however, the earliest printings would suggest that this drink calls for jagermeister and chambord. Modern recipes include everything from Tequila to Tequila rose. This drink dates between 1994 - 2003 and contained at least as of then:
